Hi I’m a web graphic designer. Me too!
Since the beginning of my career in graphic design I’ve often heard this when I introduce myself and I am asked what it is I do for a living, I tell them I’m a web graphic designer and they reply by saying; me too!
Advances in technology and access to online D.I.Y. (Do It Yourself) graphic layout software has empowered all of us to pretty much create nice designed layouts for business cards, invitations, and even for websites to promote our business and/or services on the World Wide Web which is awesome!
So with that being said:
Why hire a Web Graphic Designer?
Here’s why…Web Graphic Designers are expected to have an awareness of usability and if their role involves creating mark up then they are also expected to be up to date with web accessibility guidelines. When you hire a web graphic designer you are not only hiring him/her because of their creative artwork but you are also hiring their skills and experience to develop and maintain your business website.
Anybody nowadays can just go online and probably find and download thousands of free website templates, but not everybody can work on the back-end of your website assuring that your website is doing what is supposed to be doing; specially when it comes to S.E.O (Search Engine Optimization) so your business can be in compliance with google and can be found online. Being a Web Graphic Designer involves more than just grabbing an online template and modifying it, it involves years of experience in not only designing but creating user friendly interface projects, specially when it comes to websites.
Keep this in mind; If you’re going to spend time not to mention money wouldn’t you want to assure that your money is invested on a Website Graphic Designer that knows what he/she is doing? Someone that is going to help bring traffic to your website and eventually help increase your sales?
That is why you should hire a Web Graphic Designer.
In conclusion; Next time you find yourself being introduced to a colleague (Web Graphic Designer) really think about what I mentioned above before you reply and hopefully if you are to say “Me too!” it truly is:)
Keep in touch!
